Danny Perez was born in Los Angeles, California and grew up in Sylmar where he attended Sylmar High School. He then attended California State University Northridge. Danny played with Poncho Sanchez and Bobby Caldwell. He also recorded with various Latin Bands in Southern California. "I began playing music at the age of 10, starting with the school orchestra. I play various types of music, from classical to blues to latin. I began playing professionally at the age of 15 and continued on until 1983 when I took a much needed break. My most notable achievements during this time were playing with Poncho Sanchez in the early to mid 1970's and touring with Bobby Caldwell in 1983. I met Albert Leon in 1998 and he invited me to sit in with the Boulevard Knights. I was hooked immediately and have been with them since."
